Spinach, as we all know but don't sometimes fully appreciate, is a super food of epic proportions. Full of nutrients, vitamins, antioxidants, calcium, and Iron; the chlorophyll in spinach also boosts the oxygen levels in your blood! What? Am I a spinach distributor? No, just a big fan...of it's benefits...not it's flavor!
So, I have seen and tried many different types of spinach shakes in the past, but either they tasted too spinachy or they contained too many calories, or they were too complicated to make regularly. Here is my solution; the incredible 4 ingredient Green smoothie. This shake will fill you up, get you going, and make you feel good about yourself all day... yea, it's that good!
Ingredients:
1 container of non-fat blueberry or strawberry Greek yogurt
1 large banana
1cup of milk
3-4 large handfuls of fresh spinach
Just combine all of the ingredients (you may have to start with less spinach and add more once it blends a bit) in the blender and blend until smooth and green! (I use the liquefy setting on my blender to get it as smooth as possible. And that's it, delicious, healthy, and low calorie!

ReplyDeleteThanks Babe!
DeleteYour blog is very aptly named - so unique you are! Do you know the calorie count in the green shake?
ReplyDeleteGreat question! I estimate there are about 300 calories depending on the type of milk you use and the kind of yogurt you prefer, etc.
DeleteI forgot to mention, that while the shake is about 300 calories total, it makes about 2 servings, so that's 150 calories per serving!
