It's not that I didn't know this day was coming...
It helped that she was ready to go...
Outfit of her own personal design?...check!
Enthusiastic smile?...check!
Hugs from mom and dad?...check!
Silly brother who is starting 3rd grade ready to go?...check!
Kindergarten teacher who used to be Noah's kindergarten teacher, and whose class we have waited for 3 long years to join?...Check!
And last, but not least, mom's secret weapon for combating last minute nerves...the purple sharpie!
By drawing a reminder that mommy loves her and is connected to her always in the palm of her hand, she has the power to enter kindergarten with a smile instead of tears!!
(of course, in the spirit of full disclosure, I should mention that the "purple sharpie no tears super power" is limited to small children and does not, in fact, do anything to stop mommy's tears)
But I am happy to report that it was just as successful the second day!
Seriously need to buy stock in Sharpie Markers now!
so sweet! And the purple sharpie, genious! I had a little melt down yesterday, Jack starts on the 22nd. sigh...guess they have to grow up!
